Glossary

Something written by another person that may be news or some type of tutorial.

An image that may symbolize something for a user, usually near their name. Mainly used on blogs and forums.

Right click your current layer and you should see a selection that says "Blending options", these will give you effects for you layers.

Buttons are usually referred to as clickable objects on a site. This includes topic icons on forums which you may see in photoshop tutorials.

The amount of visits that come to a site.

Hyper Text Markup Language, a coding language.

A new area above your other areas on an image, where something can be edited seperately.

Hypertext Preprocessor, a coding language.

Pixels are what make up anything digital you see on a screen. They are the smallest form of graphics.

Sigs, otherwise known as Signatures, are what people use below their comments and such in forums. Signatures may advertise their site, show off their work or whatever use they find for it.

Something typed up and created by a user to teach another user how to do something.

Uniques are when a person visits your site. Uniques are only counted once, you may have 100 visits but only 80 uniques, this means 80 different people have visited. A unique is counted for each persons first visit and only that visit.
